Day One Hundred Eighty-One: Sleeping with Grampy

Last night the kids built a fort and slept on the floor in the bedroom. Josie made it through the night. But Max got up at 12 and went downstairs to sleep with Grampy on the sofa for the rest of the night. Unfortunately, Grampy did not get much sleep with tossing-and-turning Max!

Day One Hundred Seventy-Nine: Trophy Day

This was the last day of baseball for Sam. He got some hits and runs, made it home, and made a great double play! Then all the players on all the teams got trophies. You gotta love the little ones.....everyone's a winner!

Day One Hundred Seventy-Seven: Face Painting

Creative Kidstuff had an ice cream social and face painting at their store.

Day One Hundred Seventy-Eight: Watermelon, Oh My!

Day One Hundred Seventy-Two: At the Helm

Sam, Annalee, Josie, Max and I went on my sister and brother-in-law's boat on Lake Minnetonka. Luckily we went out early enough to avoid the rain. This is Josie helping Uncle Howard steer the boat.

Day One Hundred Seventy-One: Grampy's Day

We had all our 4 grandkids over for a sleepover. I loved it.....I felt really blessed, and I love commotion. They were great. Grampy, on the other hand, doesn't like alot of noise, so he had a harder time!

Day One Hundred Seventy: Heart Stopper

My granddaughters thought it was fun to swing from a bar on top of the slide, then jumping on to the slide. I caught this picture of Annalee in mid-jump! My heart stopped.

Day One Hundred Sixty-Eight: Max is Conquering the World

My little Max. Four and a half years old. He turns 5, five days after the school cutoff.

Yet, in the space of less than a week he has learned to ride a 2-wheeler; he has just today learned to jump up, catch the monkey bars and swinging from bar to bar by himself; and his father has just gotten him into kindergarten.

My baby (as he is my youngest grandchild) is growing up so fast!

Day One Hundred Sixty-Seven: Happy Campers

Day One Hundred Sixty-Five: Max to Sam

This is little (well, to me) Max, waving to his big cousin Sam going out on the field at his baseball game.

Day One Hundred Sixty-Four: My Four

Today was action packed. Stefanie and I dropped Josie and Max off at Sam's game. We then went to the Excelsior Art Fair. Stefanie got some fabulous "sculpture" pieces for an area in the front of her house.

We then met up with everyone at Dairy Queen. On to Camp Teko orientation day for Stef, Josie, Max and me.......the camp is on something like 280 acres on Lake Minnetonka, so it was quite the hike!

We then went back to my son's house. First there was rocket launching in the park, and a bar-b-que and ball playing.

A great day, very tired kids! And I couldn't resist this picture of 4 crazy kids at DQ!

Day One Hundred Sixty-Three: Badge of Honor

The kids are in town! I was so excited to see them.
This morning my daughter called from Iowa to say I should go looking at garage sales for a bike for Josie. I have a 16" bike in the garage she rode last year. But I guess she now is riding a 20". Stefanie thought I should find a 20" for here, and Max could have the 16" (he wasn't riding yet).

So I jumped into my car at 8:30 this morning, and went in search of garage sales. There weren't that many that I could find. One easy thing is all I had to do was to drive by, see no kids bikes in front and drive off.

Finally, I found one. It was a beauty. Bright pink, bought at a good bike store and only rode about 8 times (according to the mother). She didn't know what size it was but thought is was 20". It looked huge to me, and Josie is a very little 6 year old, but I bought it anyway.

Well, it's not a 20", but Josie learned to ride it right away. And Max learned to ride the 16" immediately.....pretty good for a 4 year old!

I thought my picture of the day was definitely going to be the two of them riding. But Josie fell, got a teensy cut and insisted on a band-aid. It had to be a Dora band-aid, and a special Mermaid Dora.

Once she was back outside on her bike, she insisted I take a picture of the band-aid, which I had told her was a badge of honor. And I realized that must be the picture of the day!

Day One Hundred Sixty-One: The Countdown Begins

My daughter and kids come on Friday night for five weeks. The kids will go to summer camp.

So my dh has begun getting ready.....first for him is cleaning out the garage (isn't that always what men clean?).

Day One Hundred Sixty: Lake Minnetonka as it Should Be

It's June but not warm this week. So I knew it would be a great time to find all the sailboats moored at the Yacht Club.
The water was so calm. This is the real Lake Minnetonka! Not the ice and snow that covers it 9 months of the year.

Day One Hundred Fifty-Seven: Max in Glasses

My poor little Max has his glasses. This is actually a picture my daughter took with her cell phone camera, but I wanted it in my 365 Project, so it technically isn't my picture of the day!
