Day One-Hundred Twenty: A long drive

It's 10:00, and Stefanie, Cary and the kids just got in from Iowa. They have finally sold their house here, and the closing is tomorrow morning.

Poor Josie.......she makes bed look so good. Actually, within 10 minutes both Josie and Max were sound asleep.

Day One Hundred Nineteen: Another Lovely Mess I Got Me Into

Day One Hundred Sixteen: Birthday Party

Today was my little friend Maccabee's 2-year birthday party. He shared it with his friend Maddy, who was also 2.

Maccabee, in red, and Maddy in polka-dots at the head of the table admiring their balloons. I loved that I got the reflection from behind in the mirror.

Day One Hundred Fifteen: Spring Cleaning

My dh cleaned out the kitchen tool drawer. It couldn't be opened, there was so much "stuff" in it! Then he lined the drawer, and put kitchen tools we don't use in a basket in the cabinet under the drawer.

One drawer and the rest of the house to go!

Day One Hundred Fourteen: Sign of Winter?

It's been in the 80's for over a week here. Today it was in the high 80's. But by tonight, when we went out to barbeque it was close to 50........and ch..ch..chilly! That's the beauty of weather in Minnesota. It can be summer in winter, and winter in summer.....every day can be a surprise. Although, I guess not really a surprise. The weatherman has been forecasting a colder weekend. But it was much too nice to believe him!

Day One hundred Thirteen: Monkey Business

I made a brown monkey like this for my grandson. Then I made this one for myself. Now I'm knitting a bright one for my sister for her birthday. My project du jour!

Day One Hundred Twelve: Earth Day

It was a beautiful Earth Day here! A great Spring day.

Day One hundred Eleven: Hello, Goodbye again

26 hours from the time we left my house yesterday morning, and today when my sister and I got back home.....well, maybe 29 hours. It was so much fun driving to Iowa to see my daughter and grandkids, if even for a day. It was alot of driving, though......and I don't think my sister liked driving with a hotrodder!!! But I got her home safely.

We had alot of fun stuffed into a small time. Josie posed for me before school this morning. Goodbye again.

Day One Hundred Ten: Road Trip

Today my sister and I made a little (350 mile) road trip. My sister wanted to see my daughter's new house, and see the kids.

This is Max, telling my sister to "drink up" her tea, so they can continue playing ball!

Day One Hundred Nine: A Sign of Spring (Ugh!)

I love all animals. Not that I would want them to all live with me, but I do love animals. I would like to say our cute little woodpecker is a friend of mine. I don't know why he has adopted our house, but the peck peck peck gets annoying. And the holes in the house aren't cute. So, after many other tries, my dh heard about hanging mylar strips on the roof. So they're up again. A definite sign of spring!

Day One Hundred Eight: A Great Sign of Spring

The bar-b-que is out, the bar-b-que is out! This is a great sign of spring.....and summer and fall. Winter in Minnesota is very sad with our grill in the garage! It's almost 8pm and my dh has just finished cleaning the grill, and now he's making his specialty: "State Fair Pork Chops". Num.

Day One Hundred Seven: Another Sign of Spring

My dh turned on the fan over our bed today. That is definitely a sign of warmer weather ahead. Today was beautiful, over 70.

One Hundred Six: Another Sign of Spring?

Goofing off? That's a good sign of spring, isn't it?

Great book......I love Lisa Scottoline, but this might just be her best. I've read them all. I started it this morning, and can't put it down.

Day One Hundred Five: It's Still Spring

According to the official weather report on the news tonight, it reached 67 degrees today. The warmest since November 4th. On our deck, it reached 78 degrees in the shade. Ah.......spring.

Day One Hundred Four: It must be Spring!

The car is filthy from winter's snow and salt. I'm way too lazy to get it washed. Everyday I say "tomorrow", but today my dh told me to go get it washed today. Somehow that worked.
I love my new, clean car.

Day One Hundred and Two: Just Ducky!

I hope everyone's Easter was "Just Ducky"!

Day One Hundred and One: Another Lost Tooth

Wow.....I don't know what's moving faster: I'm on my 101st day of this challenge and still hanging in there; or my granddaughter Annalee, losing her teeth.

Just 2 weeks ago, she lost her one top tooth. I just saw her on Wednesday and Thursday. Today she came over.......both top teeth are gone!

Day 100: A Full Moon

A full moon out tonight!

Day Ninety-Nine: Maccabee

I'm running a day behind. This is really for Day 99, April 9th.
I spent the day with my friend Serena and her boys. I had the tough job of playing with (mostly) Maccabee, while Serena cooked for our Passover Seder tonight! Of all the pictures I took today, I just loved this sweet picture of Maccabee.

Day Ninety-Eight: Passover

Tonight is the first night of Passover, and the dinner is called the Seder. I went to my daughter-in-law's parents. There were her immediate family of her parents and 2 sisters, brother, wife and husbands, 7 grandkids, plus cousins. It really is a nice night to be with family.

This is a part of the Seder where we raise our glasses of wine and say a prayer over the wine. I was kind of "sneaking" the pictures.....if you can sneak a dslr with the flash going off!

Day Ninety-Seven: Men and Doctors

My poor dh does not go to the doctor unless it is a dire emergency. Well, today was one. Actually, whatever is wrong with him (we still don't know), it's been coming on for over a week. After a thorough examination he was given an antibiotic and told to come back in 2 weeks.

But through the whole oral examination (while I was in the room), I know my husband had his sights set on only one thing. The rubber gloves on the shelf!

Day Ninety-Six: My Old Stomping Grounds

I was in the area, so I decided to drive to my old neighborhood. I took pictures of the duplex I lived in as a child through part of college. I used lab coloring in Photoshop, and loved the old look I got.

Day Ninety-Four: Cool Kid

This is my Sam. At 8 1/2 he is one cool kid. He is great at computers, WII and X-Box, but he also loves to read.....lots of sci-fi and wizards.....loves baseball, basketball and football, and a good student.

He takes after his Grammy.....I'm sure his mother and father (my son) had nothing to do with it!

Day 93: That's Life

My midnight snack (well, not midnight yet, so officially I'm in the right day!)

Day Ninety-Two: My Pasta Necklace

In laziness, I have started hanging my necklaces over the bathroom lights. My most precious is my pasta necklace Max made me last week!

Day Ninety-One: Ladies Who Lunch

My daughter Stefanie, on the left, and her friends who meet every Wednesday morning for coffee. Even if I am leaving Iowa, I always stick around for coffee with the girls.....they are so much fun.
