Day One Hundred Fifty-One: A Family Sitting

Very nervous today. My friends asked if I would take family pictures of them. I do this when I happen to be somewhere, but never deliberately take pictures. Of course., we all agreed that if they didn't like them, they would go to a professional........and this didn't cost them anything.

If my daughter-in-law could have come with me, I would have had the perfect assistant. But she had a wedding to go to, so I was on my own.

I haven't gone thru them all yet, but this one I posted on my Facebook and they love it. Whew!

Day One-Hundred Forty-Nine: Glasses

These are my dh's reading glasses, but I have glasses on my mind. My little Max, with the huge black eyes, needs glasses. They spent the morning at the eye doctor, and his vision is 80/20!

We actually knew when he was about 2 that he would eventually need glasses. I can't imagine what he will look like with his new glasses......but, I'll see him in a few weeks.

Day One-Hundred Forty-Eight: No...No...No

I was out all morning running errands. This afternoon, driving home, I was wondering what my photo should be today. After a week with my grandkids and other fun things I did, I thought I had nothing!

But I was soooooo wrong. I walked into the house, walked into the living room. From the living room I could see my husband in the backyard. With a pruning shears in his hand. This is not good. He has no off button.

I think I caught his guilty look.

Day One-Hundred Forty-Seven: Home Again, Home Again

I drove home this morning. Before I left, the kids played around while I shot pictures. I'll miss them, but they'll be here for 5 weeks in June. They go to a summer camp here.

Day One-Hundred Forty-Six: Max at Bedtime

It was bedtime, and where was Max? Playing on the computer without washing his face after dessert!

Day One-Hundred Forty-Five: A New Bookcase

Memorial Day was spent by me sleeping most of the day. Stefanie spent it cleaning up. Then last night I helped Stefanie put together Josie's new bookcase.

Day One-Hundred Forty-Four: On the Road Again

We're making our way back to Iowa. Of course, by way of a big outlet in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

But after 3 hours, we began to meander home. We went through Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, which had another adorable little town. But it was very crowded, as it is Memorial Weekend. So we just drove through and drooled.

We did, however, stop in Galena this time. We walked through all the great shops. We had a fabulous dinner.
But first, we stopped at President Grant's house. I never knew they were from Illinois. It was a beautiful house on a fabulous lot overlooking the town.

I thought this was a very appropriate photo for Memorial Day......history and our flag!

Day One-Hundred Forty-Three: Tressa's Baptism

Well, we missed Tressa's baptism. Stefanie read the invitation wrong and thought it started at 2:00. We went to the outlets (Stefanie's favorite pasttime, my worst nightmare!), and then killed time having a coffee drink at Starbucks.

When we got in the car and took out the invitation for the directions, we realized it started at 1:00 not 2:00, and it was already 1:15!

So we made it to the picnic, and it was a fabulous day.
Beautiful little Tressa was born prematurely and weighed well under 2 pounds. She now weighs about 12 or 13 and has the cutest personality and is so sweet.

Day One-Hundred Forty-Two: On the Road

My daughter Stefanie and I drove from Cedar Falls, IA to Chicago. A five hour or so drive. We planned on stopping for dinner in Galena, IL which everyone says is so cute. (See Day 144).

Stefanie is driving, and we're on the main little highway we're taking when we get into Galena. I am just gushing. This is cute, oh look at how cute everything is, this is great, etc. But I don't see any restaurants. All of a sudden, we are out of Galena, on the little highway!

So, forget Galena, we'll stop at the next place we see. And we're starving.

About a half hour later, we see a "restaurant". When we drive up to it, it's deserted and looks like the Bates Motel! Forget that, no one can be that hungry!
We finally see "Antny's Good Food". The inside was very interesting with log walls and stairways.

I couldn't stop laughing, though. This was just like traveling with my husband. Oh, goody, I've never seen Nashville.... oh look a sign for.... in Nashville, oh let's get off here......oh, goodbye Nashville.

Day One-Hundred Forty-One: Playing for Pizza

Tonight was the kids' last piano lesson til next fall. They had "playing for pizza" night. The teacher had pizza, and each kid had to play his/her favorite song.

Max was playing and I was shooting. All of a sudden, still playing, he looked over and gave me such a proud look!

Day One-Hundred Forty: Graduation Day

Josie's graduation from kindergarten. It was a great day. They had a musical first in their music class. The kids were great.
Then, back in their room, their teacher said something about each child as they came up. This is a "laboratory" school for the University of Northern Iowa. It is so fabulous. Everything the teacher said about the kids involved the fact that they loved math, science, wanting to go to college. What a great school this is!

Day One-Hundred Thirty-Nine: Posing

Josie posing for me before school. I love that she is usually so willing! Her eyes are an amazing green. I think they might be alot like mine, or how mine was. Everyone always said I had amazing eyes, but I never understood until Josie came along!

Day One-Hundred Thirty-Eight: On the Iowa Playground

Now I'm back in Iowa for a week or so. Josie graduates kindergarten on Wednesday. Then Stefanie and I are going to Chicago over the weekend for a Baptism and "Debut" party.

This is Max playing on the playground, while we waited for Josie to get out of school. I'm so happy to see these two again.

Day One-Hundred Thirty-Six: Sam's Morning Game

If I thought last night was "chilly", today was downright cold. Sam was great. He always hits well, but today he outdid himself in the outfield!

Day On-Hundred Thirty-Five: Sam's Game

Here is Sam running to 1st base after a good hit.
It was almost rained out. In fact, every game I've gone to has rained. The rain stopped for this one, but it was chilly. The most important.....Sam was great, his hitting, his catching all great.

Day One-Hundred Thirty-Four: Lunch at Sunsets

I met my girlfriend for lunch here today. It was a little chilly, but people were eating outdoors. We did not. I had brought my laptop, and we were working on an album I'm doing for her.

But it was a beautiful day, a great lunch and fun company!

Day One-Hundred Thirty-Three: Monkey is done!

Three weeks ago, my picture of day was the monkey I knitted for myself. Along side it was the yarn to make one for my sister. I can make one of these in a day.......if I apply myself. But, I procrastinated. Friday I meet my sister for her birthday lunch (her birthday was May 5th), and I just finished him today!

Day One-Hundred Twenty-Nine: I'm in Love

I spent 6 hours today at a Canon seminar. It was great, but very expensive. Not the cost of the seminar, which was minimal, but the lenses I want now.

No, not the L series lens I took pictures of. I can only dream of the L lens. It was the lens I was using. A 60mm prime lens.

Then someone else convinced me that a 28-300mm lens was the lens to have! And perhaps, a white balance cap. And, and, and........

Day One-Hundred Twenty-Seven: 127 days to Great Weather!

What a wonderful sight! The outdoor eating areas are open and the streets are buzzing. This is Wayzata at it's best. Outdoor eating (another restaurant right across the street on the lake), and the lake is "iced out" and boats on the lake.

My Sam, second year that he's no longer playing t-ball, hit the ball with the coach throwing. This was the first of three hits tonight. Way to go, Sam!

Day One-Hundred Twenty-One: Sibling Love

What more can I say......I caught a kiss between brother and sister while they were playing and dancing outside!
