Day Two-Hundred Fourteen: Sarah Myrtle

Josie and her Cabbage Patch doll......Sarah Myrtle. (And, this was the day Stefanie came to spend the day in bed with me......til she went to her high school friend's party!)

Day Two-Hundred Fourteen: Swimming Lesson

My last day of the scavenger hunt. After chasing down an abacus, slip n slide, marbles and braces (that I never found!), I went to watch Mathew's swimming lesson.

Day Two-Hundred Thirteen: Maccabee

Love this picture of Maccabee on his new Rainbow playset, with Serena and Jonah in the background.

Day Two-Hundred Twelve: Photo Shoot

Trying again for Jonah's 6 month pictures. I loved the last session much better, but too "tilty".

Day Two-Hundred Eleven: Find a Policeman

These two great Edina policemen were such good sports, all in the name of a photo scavenger hunt. They even wanted to know what else I was looking for!

Day Two-Hundred Ten: Poor Michael

The past month had me totally addicted to a photo scavenger hunt. It has been so much fun. But my poor dh has been more than helpful, such as letting me paint his face for the "face painting" item!

Day Two-Hundred Six: Growing Up

At the age of 15, Booter shot up right in front of my eyes one summer. He went from maybe 5'4" to 6'2" in a month. He always measured himself to Michael (my boyfriend at the time), and Michael always said "not even close"!

Then one day in July 25 years ago, I grabbed my camera. He was TALLER than Michael!

Day Two-Hundred Four: Happy 40th Birthday, Booter

Actually, named Howard Sheldon, he went thru many nicknames until "Booter" stuck. Now at 40, most know him as "Howard".

Day Two-Hundred Two: To the Moon

This was the front page of the Variety section of our paper today. It reminded me, that 40 years ago I was very pregnant with my son. So this week I am looking back as a 40th birthday tribute to my son.

Day One Hundred Ninety-Eight: Josie and Max

Day One Hundred Ninety-Seven: Max on the Floor

He started in the bed with his pajamas on. Sometime in the middle of the night, he took off his pj's and went to sleep on the floor. I don't know if he did it in one step or two.

Day 195: A Lemonade Stand

Day One Hundred Ninety-Four: The Zoo

We spent the day at our zoo. It is a zoo, park, picnic area, lake and amusement park.

The kids love this high-flying swing ride. Max and Mommy also went on the roller coaster. He loved it.

Day One Hundred Ninety-Three: First on a Horse

Josie has been asking for horseback riding lessons since May. Yesterday we just happened to drive by a ranch, and went in and signed her up for today. (Max, too).

It's English riding, and she was a "natural". The woman said usually they need to be 7 or so, but she was posting immediately, and was a natural!

Did she like it? As soon as we were done, she said she wanted another appointment "tomorrow, or later today" (it was 4 in the afternoon).

Max? At 4 1/2 he was great, but not totally impressed!

Day One Hundred Ninety-Two: A Blue Tractor

I'm in a photo scavanger hunt. Of all the things to find, a blue tractor seemed impossible. So today, after dropping the kids off at the camp bus, we drove west until we finally saw a blue tractor on a farm. Ta Dah!

Day One Hundred Eighty-One: Sleeping with Grampy

Last night the kids built a fort and slept on the floor in the bedroom. Josie made it through the night. But Max got up at 12 and went downstairs to sleep with Grampy on the sofa for the rest of the night. Unfortunately, Grampy did not get much sleep with tossing-and-turning Max!

Day One Hundred Eighty: Family Brunch

Sunday morning at the Pancake House. A thirty-five minute wait, not bad for this place!

Day One Hundred Seventy-Nine: Trophy Day

This was the last day of baseball for Sam. He got some hits and runs, made it home, and made a great double play! Then all the players on all the teams got trophies. You gotta love the little ones.....everyone's a winner!

Day One Hundred Seventy-Seven: Face Painting

Creative Kidstuff had an ice cream social and face painting at their store.

Day One Hundred Seventy-Eight: Watermelon, Oh My!

Max eating watermelon at Camp Teko. It was a picnic and then Friday night services.

Day One Hundred Seventy-Two: At the Helm

Sam, Annalee, Josie, Max and I went on my sister and brother-in-law's boat on Lake Minnetonka. Luckily we went out early enough to avoid the rain. This is Josie helping Uncle Howard steer the boat.

Day One Hundred Seventy-One: Grampy's Day

We had all our 4 grandkids over for a sleepover. I loved it.....I felt really blessed, and I love commotion. They were great. Grampy, on the other hand, doesn't like alot of noise, so he had a harder time!

Day One Hundred Seventy: Heart Stopper

My granddaughters thought it was fun to swing from a bar on top of the slide, then jumping on to the slide. I caught this picture of Annalee in mid-jump! My heart stopped.

Day One Hundred Sixty-Eight: Max is Conquering the World

My little Max. Four and a half years old. He turns 5, five days after the school cutoff.

Yet, in the space of less than a week he has learned to ride a 2-wheeler; he has just today learned to jump up, catch the monkey bars and swinging from bar to bar by himself; and his father has just gotten him into kindergarten.

My baby (as he is my youngest grandchild) is growing up so fast!

Day One Hundred Sixty-Seven: Happy Campers

BFF's......Happy camper's waiting for the bus. Justin, Mathew, Max and Josie.
